CNC puts new strong personalities in management

CZECH NEWS CENTER is putting new strong personalities in its three key management positions. From 1 January 2019, Michal Heisig is taking on the new separate position of Online Advertising Director, and Petr Fryš is Chief Digital Officer, and from 1 December 2018 Jan Samko becomes Marketing Director.

Through these personnel changes, including Jiří Libánský’s taking on the position of Paid Content Manager, a number of strong personalities with experience of the digital field are arriving in the top management team. These changes are part of the transformation of our large media organisation, whose print portfolio has in sum the highest readership in the whole Czech print market, into one of the strongest digital media companies in the Czech Republic (CNC 2018 in 3rd position amongst operators). 

Michal Heisig studied Systems Engineering and Informatics at the Technical University of Ostrava’s Faculty of Economics. He began working in the sale of online advertising in 2002 in Český Telecom’s media representation, MIA, then for Seznam.cz in the Key Customers Department. Between 2009 and 2017 he was Sales Director at Seznam.cz, where he managed the entire Seznam.cz online sales. His final year of 2018 was spent developing and stabilising the Estheticon.com’s sales team, focused on the sale of online advertising mainly to clients in aesthetic and plastic surgery. 

His objective is to introduce presentation opportunities to clients alongside colleagues from the CNC online division so that they look forward to co-operation and can achieve anticipated results.   

Petr Fryš studied Journalism and Media Studies, Sociology and Marketing Communication. He has been involved in online media since 2001 both within publishers and within media and communication agencies (NetCentrum, Beyond Interactive). He worked at Seznam.cz between 2011 and 2017 where he focused on the sales and product development of video advertising, mobile advertising, unconventional advertising formats and target advertising. In his final year of 2018, he led the Digital Division at content agency FUSE, which creates bespoke unconventional content projects for clients within the Omnicom Media Group. 

His objective is to help turn CNC into a modern media digital company which aims to achieve technological trends and user satisfaction while also maintaining the values of traditional media journalism. 

Jan Samko has been involved in marketing, brand strategy, e-commerce and omnichannel platforms for over 15 years, with experience in retail as well as the digital sector. He began in 2002 in Alza.cz as an e-shop manager, subsequently holding the position of Marketing Director at Alza.cz from 2005 to 2012. In 2012–2014, he was Commercial Servers Brand Manager at Seznam.cz, following which he was in charge of marketing for the largest electronics retailers, between 2015 and 2018 he was Marketing Director and Board Member at DATART International. 

His objective is to apply all his experience within CNC, helping to build up a strong media brand in the print and digital sectors.
